Roumers About Replace Z-Series New Sony Ericsson Concept

July 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

The Sony Ericsson Z series phones might soon bid adieu if rumors are to be believed. We will most probably see a new device as a perfect replacement for Z750 (Sony Ericsson’s first tri-band HSDPA and quad-band EDGE enabled phone supporting Java Platform 8) - the T767, as Xell from Esato board has it. It comes packed with a 3.2-megapixel auto focus camera, HSDPA, GPS, 2.2-inch QVGA display and LED signal strip. Although now it is still in the concept stage.

Sony Ericsson W902, W595 and W302 finally go official

July 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Sony Ericsson W902 is the most feature-packed among the new devices, coming with a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a LED flash and hardware music keys. It has a 262K color 2.2" QVGA TFT display and 25MB of built-in memory. Quite as expected, Sony Ericsson W902 will also feature an 8GB M2 memory card in its retail package to extend the available storage.

The 3G and HSDPA-enabled W902 measures 110 x 49 x 11.7mm and weighs 99.8 grams. The FM radio with RDS and stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) come to compliment the music capabilities of the quad-band W902.

The Sony Ericsson W902 will also offer auto screen rotation thanks to the built-in accelerometer and image geotagging. Since it doesn’t have a GPS receiver, the geotagging feature will rely on cell towers to approximate your location.

The Sony Ericsson W902 will be available in Volcanic Black, Wine Red and Earth Green versions from Q4 of 2008.

Sony Ericsson W595 comes next in line sporting quad-band GSM support and 3G with HSDPA. The slider also boasts a 3 megapixel camera that unfortunately has no autofocus. The display will be a 2.2" one of QVGA resolution, capable of showing up to 262K colors.

The usual suspects - Bluetooth (with A2DP), USB (through Sony Ericsson’s proprietary port) and FM radio with RDS are all on board Sony Ericsson W595. A 2GB M2 memory card will come in the retail package to extend the 40MB of built-in memory.

The color versions of the Sony Ericsson W595 are Active Blue, Cosmopolitan White, Jungle Grey and Lava Black. The handset will be released in Q4 of 2008.

The Sony Ericsson W302 is the final phone of the announcement. Coming in the bar form factor the W302 will be the most affordable among the new Walkmans and will sport the most modest feature pack. Itsports a 176 x 220 pixel 262K color TFT display and a 2 megapixel snapper.

There is also no 3G on the W302 but luckily the sweet quad-band GSM with EDGE support is left intact. FM radio with RDS, USB and stereo Bluetooth are some of the other features included. The built-in memory will be 20MB and there will be a M2 slot for expanding it.

Sony Ericsson W302 will be as compact as 100 x 46 x 10.5 mm and will weigh merely 78g. It will be available in n Midnight Black and Sparkling White and will hit the shelves in Q4 2008.

With a large 2.8" screen, 16 gigabytes of internal memory and support for high-quality videos in a wide range of formats, the dual-slide Nokia N96 represents an exciting new chapter in mobile media. The Nokia N96 multimedia computer is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2008 with an estimated sales price of approximately 550 euros, before subsidies or taxes.

How man times have you been bothered with spam messages. But here is one good solution to beat them all odds With SMS Spam Manager you can effectively filter all your incoming SMS messages.

There are 6 different types of filters to block unwanted SMS. You have the freedom to choose whether to reject all incoming messages or to accept messages only from people listed in your phonebook. You can also choose to block incoming SMS messages from a defined phone number, from a defined prefix number and even messages that contain a defined phrase.

With SMS Spam Manager you can tune your phone with 4 different modes and choose among 6 different filters to block junk and unwanted SMS messages:

  • Accept all (inactive) - the phone will accept all incoming SMS messages.
  • Block all - the phone will block all incoming SMS messages.
  • Accept phonebook only - the phone will accept incoming SMS messages only from people listed in your phonebook.
  • Block from black list rules - the phone will block the incoming SMS messages, which meet at least one of the rules listed below.

Block from black list rules option allows you to filter and block incoming SMS messages in three different ways, choosing one of the three black list rules:

  • Telephone number - all messages coming from a defined phone number will be blocked.
  • Prefix number - all messages coming from a defined prefix number will be blocked.
  • Text match - all messages that contain a defined phrase will be blocked.

You can check all blocked messages anytime, as they are kept in “Blocked SMS log” and restore them into your SMS Inbox if needed. You can also easily check the number of messages rejected and accepted since SMS Spam Manager has been started.

Sony Ericsson “Patti” phone shows itself, gets renamed W902

July 14th, 2008 · No Comments

A single shot of Sony Ericsson’s "Patti" candybar phone was apparently making the rounds earlier this week, but a helpful member of the SE4M forums has now thankfully provided a whole batch of pics, as well as word that the phone has now been officially dubbed the W902. Apart from the 5-megapixel autofocus camera with an LED flash, however, this one looks to be a pretty standard SE handset, with it boasting all the usual Walkman-related features and tried and true design you’ve come to expect. No word on a release just yet, but you can at least get a good look at it by hitting up the link below.

Motorola Q9 is a new WM device

July 11th, 2008 · No Comments

It seems as if Motorola and Verizon are ready to take a third crack at the Q9 form factor, following up the Q9m and Q9c. There’s a little something extra in store. On top of the EV-DO Rev. A radio, the so-called "Napoleon" (codename, of course) features GSM, because — surprise, surprise — businesspeople who use Windows Mobile devices tend to do just a bit of traveling. It looks like Moto has taken this opportunity to give the Q9 meme a little nip-tuck job, too, with a rounded body and a tastefully-applied ring of chrome around the top edge. They’ve even tossed in a fingerprint scanner for good measure, a tip o’ the hat to the suits who’ll undoubtedly populate the upper 90 percent of this sucker’s client base.

BlackBerry KickStart has something new

July 11th, 2008 · No Comments

No one can tell RIM wouldn’t think of charging too many hundies for its still unannounced BlackBerry KickStart, but $49.99? CrackBerry has it that said flip phone will be selling at T-Mobile for a penny under $50 on a two-year contract, which certainly seems smart given the competition. ‘Course, we’ve nothing to substantiate this with just yet, but take one more look at that chubby side and tell us this thing deserves a triple digit price tag. That’s right, you can’t.
